Privacy Policy
Who we are
Phrasecast is an iPhone app for learning English. It is not launched yet. The founder of Phrasecast, an individual living in the United States, runs this website. There is no company yet. In this policy, “we” means that person. Contact: hello@phrasecast.app.
What we collect
- Your email address, if you join the waitlist.
- The date and time you joined.
- Where on the page you signed up (top or bottom form).
We do not ask for your name or any other details.
You do not have to give us your email. If you don’t, you can’t join the list; nothing else changes.
After you join, your browser keeps a small note in its local storage (phrasecast.joined), so the page shows that you are on the list next time. It holds no email and never leaves your device. You can clear it in your browser settings.
Why we collect it
We use your email for one thing: to tell you when Phrasecast launches. We send one email when Phrasecast launches. We may send one more only to confirm your address, or if this policy changes in a way that affects you. We do not sell your email. We do not share it for advertising.
Legal basis
We use your email because you agree to it when you join the waitlist (consent). You can withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawing is as easy as joining: use the unsubscribe link in the email, or email us.
Who processes your data
We use Cloudflare, Inc. (USA) to run this website. Cloudflare acts as our service provider (processor):
- Hosting and storage. Cloudflare Pages serves the site. Cloudflare D1 stores the waitlist. Cloudflare processes your IP address to deliver the site.
- Bot check. Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a person, not a bot, sends the form. It loads when you start typing your email. It uses technical signals such as your IP address and browser type. It does not read what you type. For this check, Cloudflare may set a cookie that the check needs to work. Cloudflare also uses these signals to improve its bot detection. For that purpose Cloudflare decides how it uses the signals, and Cloudflare’s own privacy policy applies. See https://www.cloudflare.com/turnstile-privacy-policy/.
- Visit statistics. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page visits. It uses no cookies or local storage. It does not track you across websites.
We use no other services on this website. Our fonts load from our own site.
Cloudflare stores data in the United States and other countries. Our contract with Cloudflare includes the EU’s standard data-protection clauses, and Cloudflare is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
How long we keep it
We delete the whole waitlist within 30 days after we send the launch email. If we have not launched 12 months after you joined, we delete your email anyway. If you ask, we delete your email earlier, at any time.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, stop using it, or give you a copy. Email hello@phrasecast.app from the address you signed up with. We answer within 30 days. If you live in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your data protection authority.
Do Not Track
We do not track you across other websites, and no one else tracks you across websites through our site. Because of this, browser “Do Not Track” signals change nothing here.
Children
This website is not for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their data. If we learn that a child under 16 joined the list, we delete the email.
Changes
If we change this policy, we update this page and its effective date. If a change affects how we use your email, we tell you by email before it applies.
